According to the report, Turkey's salary increase in 2021 was 12.1 percent, which raised the minimum amount to 2,605 Turkish liras instead of 2,324 Turkish liras.

 

 Inflation was expected to reach 8% in 2021, according to the inflation target of the medium-term plan for 2021. If the minimum wage was raised by 8% to achieve this target, the total minimum wage would be 3,178 TL.

 

 The minimum net salary will be 2510 TL after deducting all taxes and value added.

 

 

According to the Central Bank’s 2021 inflation target: The Central Bank has estimated inflation at 9.4%, when this rate is increased, the total minimum wage becomes 3,220 TL.

 

And when all taxes and value added are taken into account, the net minimum wage will be 2542 TL.

Minimum wage in Turkey 2021

In the context of the final committee’s conclusion and the resolution of the dispute over the minimum wage in Turkey in 2021, the Ministry of Family and Labor, after its last meeting with the 2021 wage determination committee, agreed on the following:

 

  • On October 29, 2021, the Turkish Central Bank cuts interest rates by 2% and the Turkish currency depreciates.

 

  • On October 21, 2021, the Ministry of Family and Labor approved in its final decision a 21.56% increase in the minimum wage for 2021.

 

 Where the minimum wage before the increase was 3577 Turkish liras, and the minimum wage after the imposition of taxes becomes the full amount of 2825 liras, which is equivalent to 380 dollars according to the price of the Turkish lira on this date.

  •  For specialized professions such as teachers and doctors, the minimum wage and compensation is 3 times the minimum wage of 2,558, i.e. 7,675 TL.

 

  •  For unit and department managers, engineers and architects, the minimum wage is 4 times the minimum wage of 2,555 TL, or 10,233 TL.

 

  •  Senior managers, pilots, engineers and executive architects earn 6.5 times the national minimum wage of 2,555 TL, or 16,629 TL.
